Canyon

Today we had some spent the morning at Pai Canyon, it was amazing the photos really do not do it justice, the sheer scale was immense. After this, we had the mammoth drive from Pai to Chiang Rai, which is only 182km as the crow flies compared to the shocking 300km mountainous drive, with only 4 sections one lane (each one way) falling completely down the cliff face which is great to go around a blind corner to discover a cone in space which should have been your lane and NO road. But all was better once down from the mountain as the road opened up to a five-lane motorway, well for about 10km before roadworks, yes the image below is the motorway (pick a lane and hope it joins) ... And finally, we arrived at our new hotel (The Heritage Chaing Rai) and the pool.
