Hill tribes

Today was all about life in the hills, we visited some of the local hill tribe villages - Akha, Yao, Lahu and Karen. It was great to see the different handicrafts (predominantly textiles) within each village and the different traditions. The was followed by a visit to a tea plantation, with over course sampling the homegrown produce, I am not just talking about drinking tea (hot or iced) there were tea cakes, tea jellies, tea sweets and that's not all there were full-on tea meals with fried and boiled tea leaves with rice, noodles, meat, vegetables.
